| Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020,teaching Chinese as a foreign language online has become the main channel of classroom teaching in universities at home and abroad,as well as in the Confucius Institutes,among which the Confucius Institute of the Catholic University of Peru has also witnessed online Chinese teaching for more than a year,gradually establishing a perfect management system and teaching mode from the initially hasty start.This study is to investigate the status quo of online Chinese teaching at this Confucius Institute,examine the problems in the operation of its online Chinese teaching mode,and propose corresponding countermeasures,thus providing reference and enlightenment of teaching Chinese as a foreign language online for other Confucius Institutes and promoting the development of online international Chinese teaching.Through the questionnaires and interviews,this study inquiries into the attitudes and real feelings about the mode of teaching Chinese online among the teachers and students in the Confucius Institute of the Catholic University of Peru.The results show that there are eight major problems,namely,the online classroom environment is not guaranteed,the online Chinese teaching platform needs to be improved,the online curriculum is not reasonable,the online teaching resource management is chaotic,the online classroom interaction is poor,the online Chinese teaching evaluation and supervision system needs to be facilitated,the teaching staff is relatively insufficient with uneven teaching abilities,and the learners are different in Chinese language competence.Several suggestions for the current problems from the perspective of Confucius Institutes,Chinese teachers,and learners are put forward at the end of this thesis respectively.To be specific,Confucius Institutes should strengthen the training of Chinese teachers,promote the construction of online Chinese teaching equipment and platforms,improve the evaluation system of online Chinese teaching,enrich and plan the curriculum properly,integrate teaching resources,and establish an online Chinese resource library;teachers should pay attention to the first lesson,energize online classroom management,improve their ability to teach Chinese online,emphasis online classroom interaction and centralize the students,and strengthen their relationship with other educators;and students should learn to study actively,give full play to their subjective initiative,reinforce their communication with peers,and establish independent learning groups,etc. |
