A Practical Translation Report Of Introduction To Tea Science From The Perspective Of Single-text Multiple-person Collaboration

From January to April 2021,the author was the project manager of the translation studio of Hunan Agricultural University,presiding over the Chinese-English translation project of the excerpts from Introduction to Tea Science.This article is a translation practice report based on that project.With the growing prosperity of the translation industry,the translation industry pays more and more attention to the efficiency of translation as well as the quality,so the single-text multiple-person collaborative(STMPC)translation model came into being.After a period of market testing,the translation model of STMPC is increasingly supported by more translation teams,but it has also been subject to controversy.On the one hand,a multiple-person collaborative translation team is conducive to completing translation projects faster and to saving time and cost;on the other hand,a single text requires a unified style of writing,and in the multiple-person collaboration mode,differences in the style of translation will inevitably occur,resulting in the need to further control of translation quality.In the process of managing the translation project of a multiple-person collaborative team of a single text,the author found that the translation of a single text by a multiple-person team is indeed prone to problems,especially for university translation teams.Therefore,the project management of a STMPC translation team deserves dedicated research and discussion.In this article,the author takes a translation project managed by himself,the translation project of Introduction to Tea Science as a case,reviews the project management work of this translation project in various stages of translation,and analyzes the insufficiency of this project in the management work.Several problems are listed in this report,and some improvement measures are proposed accordingly.This article will elaborate on the translation practice project,and combine the practice process to write a translation practice report.The author hopes to summarize a reasonable management process of STMPC translation project by analyzing his own translation project management experience,and provides a reference for similar translation projects.In addition,the author believes that this translation practice has greatly improved the author’s abilities of translation and management.At the same time,the author hopes that students who are interested in this kind of text translation or who are interested in translation project management can be provided with some useful information.
