Translation Project Text Quality Management

It is a common and efficient way to deliver a translation project by several translators at the same time when the time is pressing.In such a situation,project management plays an important role in translation quality.The project manager is not only responsible for distributing tasks and setting deadlines,but supervising and improving the quality of the targeted text in linguistic and contextual terms.They also play a coordinated role to resolve consistency issues caused by different cultural background and skill capacity of translators,which is also the focal point of this article.Specifically,the article will focus on the question of how to improve translation quality at linguistic and contextual levels through examination and proofreading from the project manager's perspective,as well as the preparation work that could help.This article is based on the translation project of Entrepreneurial Litigation: Its Rise Fall and Future,written by the author as its English-Chinese translation project manager.By analyzing the pros and cons of the translation result,the author aims to make it a reference for other translators handling projects of the same type.Taking detailed questions that occurred during this translation project,the author proposes some methods and standards to improve the translation quality in this article,as well as the possible ways to minimize the influence of individual differences through practical case analysis of the five translators in the team.
