In recent years, with the continuous development of the language service industry, translation has gradually become project-oriented and process-based,and more attention has been focused on translation project management. In particular, quality management has become more significant in modern translation projects.Adopting effective quality management can ensure the quality of translation projects and assist project groups in obtaining steady customers. This report elaborates on the quality management of the translation project Identification of Suspected Illegal Transactions That May Relate to Money Laundering in Banking Institutions(2021 Edition),describing the processes of quality management in the entire translation project, and analyzing the problems in this translation project. Moreover, the author draws a flow chart of quality management suitable for similar translation projects. As the project manager and one of the translators of this translation project, the author of this report describes in detail the steps and methods for quality control of the entire translation project in three stages from the perspectives of translation management. Before the translation, the project manager carefully analyzed the original text and customer requirements, formulated a project plan based on the analysis, selected and trained translators according to the project demands, and established a term-base and translation memory based on the original text and parallel texts provided by the customer. As the PM,the author also decided on the translation principles and styles of the target text based on thorough text analysis.According to the text typology proposed by Katharina Reiss, the original text involves the field of finance with many technical terms, which is a typical informative text.Translators should follow the principles of faithfulness, accuracy, and readability to do a better translation. In the second step, during the translation, the project manager followed up on the whole translation project, updated the term-base and translation memory, communicated extensively with team members, and pushed them to finish their first draft in time.In the last step of the project,a revision has been carried out after completing the translation. After the revision, the project manager checked the final translation and the consistency of terminology by using quality inspection tools.By comparing the original and revised translations, the author analyzed the error types in the first draft from lexical and syntactic levels and put forward corresponding solutions. Finally, the project manager submitted the translation and received feedback from the customer. After the whole translation project had been completed, the project group summarized the translation project and sorted out relevant materials. In the end, based on this translation practice, the author points out the limitations of this report, puts forward suggestions and prospects, and draws a flow chart of quality management suitable for similar translation projects.Hopefully, this translation practice may be able to provide a reference for similar translation practices in the future.
