"Xi Jinping: The Governance of China Ⅰ" includes Xi Jinping’s important works during the period from November 15,2012 to June 13,2014.There are 79 speeches,talks,speeches,questions and answers,instructions,and congratulatory letters.The book focuses on Xi Jinping’s governance philosophy and governance strategy.As a window for the world to understand China,the book was translated into multiple languages by an official organization and published.The content itself and the translation methods of the translations in various languages have aroused extensive discussions.This article is based on Nida’s functional equivalence theory,relying on408 idioms extracted from 79 articles to carry out analysis and research,and select typical cases for specific analysis to analyze what principles and methods translators adopt in the process of translating idioms,to the greatest extent possible to accurately convey the connotation of the original text,maintain the style of the original work,and achieve functional equivalence.The research on the translation of idioms in the Burmese translation of "Xi Jinping:The Governance of China Ⅰ " is divided into three chapters: the first chapter mainly discusses the translators and translation process of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China Ⅰ";the second chapter is to compare the idioms of China and Myanmar,including definition,source,structure,and characteristics;the third chapter is an overview of the use of idioms in the original text and functions,and then combined with the theory of functional equivalence,select typical examples to analyze the principles and methods of Chinese idiom-Myanmar translation.The research conclusions are as follows: First,the theory of functional equivalence has guiding significance for the Burmese translation of Chinese idioms;The second is the Burmese translation of Chinese idioms,which follows the principle of information reciprocity and the principle of giving priority to the implied meaning of idioms;Third,in the process of translating Chinese idioms into Burmese,translation methods such as paraphrasing,literal translation,joint translation,annotation,set translation,and provincial translation are often used.Combining the above translation principles and translation methods,idiom Burmese translation can reduce differences and achieve the effect of information equivalence to the greatest extent. |
