A Study On The Translation Of Conceptual Metaphors In Xi Jinping The Governance Of China(?)

In the long history of human development,translation has played an important role in promoting mutual understanding,and the bridge of common development as a vital social tool.General Secretary Xi Jinping declared many crucial speeches on persisting and developing the core topics of socialism with Chinese characteristics,comprehensively and detailedly state many new thoughts,new ideas and new judgments with his unique language style,it caused great repercussions in social.This article takes 'Xi Jinping The Governance of China(?)' and Uighur translation,collects and classifies conceptual metaphors and analyze those examples in detail,summarizes the adoptive methods,strategies and characteristics of translation.This article is divided into five chapters.The introduction part mainly describes from study purpose and meaning,the study problems and methods,as well as symbol writing methods in this paper,which provide a reference for the following writing.The first and second chapter primarily introduce the theoretical framework and literature review in this article,that is theory overview,conceptual metaphor analysis summary of political documents translation.The third and fourth chapter are the key parts.First of all,it make a full arrangement for conceptual metaphor in 'Xi Jinping The Governance of China(?)' categorized according to metaphor meaning and cognitive basis of structure forming.And then as per the translation principles of political documents and conceptual metaphor strategies which concluded by people before,specifically analyze the collected conceptual metaphor,and find out adoptive translation methods and strategies for each kind of that translation,furthermore,make a conclusion of the characteristics of translation in 'Xi Jinping The Governance of China(?)'.The fifth chapter is conclusion,to comb the content of above three chapters,and summarize the main study results of this article.According to the Author's statistics,there are 1986 places use conceptual metaphor in 'Xi Jinping The Governance of China(?)'.When analyze these metaphors,it based on Lakoff's conceptual metaphor theory,and be concluded into structural metaphor,ontological metaphor and orientational metaphor.Herein structural metaphor including journey metaphor,architectural metaphor,military metaphor,disease metaphor,family metaphor and few other structural metaphors.ontological metaphor including human metaphor,botanical metaphor,river metaphor,animal metaphor and other ontological.Orientational metaphor including up-down metaphor,front-back metaphor,and center-edge metaphor.After analyzing the using proportion of conceptual metaphor,it is found that ontological metaphors are used most frequently,it accounts for 81.52%,of which journey metaphor is 37.51%,architectural metaphor is 24.51%,military metaphor is 14.45%,disease metaphor is 2.25%,family metaphor is 1%and other structural metaphor is 1.81%.The using of ontological metaphor is less compared with structural metaphor,it accounts for 17.37%of total using,of which human metaphor is 9.91%,botanical metaphor is 2.31%,river metaphor is 3.91%,animal metaphor is 1.06%and other ontological is 0.2%.Orientational metaphor is least used,it accounts for 1.2%of total using,of which up-down metaphor is 0.4%,before-after metaphor is 0.5%and center-edge metaphor is 0.3%.By detailed analysis of the conceptual metaphor examples,it is found that three translation methods used mainly in 'Xi Jinping The Governance of China(?)'and Uighur translation,namely literal translation,liberal translation and stereotype translation.Its translation tactics is to preserve the direct translation of the metaphorical image of the original text,to abandon the metaphorical image of the original text and explain the metaphorical meaning,to translate into a metaphor,and to retain the metaphorical image to replace the metaphorical image of the original text.
