| It is a special phenomenon in Chinese vocabulary, which can be "separated" or "combined".It can be used as a compound word or as a phrase by inserting other components in the middle, which has always been a difficult task for Chinese learners and for international students. This thesis is a comprehensive and systematic study of the bias phenomenon in the acquisition of clitic words by native English-speaking international students,in order to provide a basis for better teaching of clitic words. The paper is divided into five parts: the first part is the introduction, which explains the reason for choosing the topic, the object of the study, the theory and significance of the research method, and focuses on the current research status of clitic words at home and abroad. The second part is an analysis of clitic words and their characteristics, and a systematic study of clitic words from three aspects: extended form, syntax and pragmatics. The third part analyzes the errors of clitic words, and summarizes four types of errors: clitic form, overlapping form, inserted component, and improper inclusion of object,by collecting and analyzing the errors produced by native English students in HSK dynamic composition corpus. The fourth part is to analyze the causes of clitic error according to the summarized error types, mainly from two aspects: learner factors and teaching factors. The fifth part is to propose teaching countermeasures from four perspectives: teaching principles, teachers’ teaching, students’ learning, and materials development, respectively, based on the types of errors and causes. This study also designs a specific teaching case to provide inspiration and help for teaching clitic words in foreign languages. |
