| Objective: The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris will mark the introduction of "Breaking" as a test event, making it the first street dance genre to be included.The12 th National Games in Shenyang marked the debut of street dance in China’s National Games. This occurred in 2013 under the supervision of the Chinese Wushu Association, and it was included as part of the Wushu competition. The street dance competition consisted of four events: individual men’s,individual women’s,men’s team and women’s team.Since street dance had never been included in the Games before, the competition attracted significant attention and interest. As a new type of physical fitness program, street dance aligns with the characteristics of modern times and caters to the physical and psychological development needs of young people.Currently, various schools and educational institutions have started organizing street dance teaching and training activities. However, the teaching abilities of street dance teachers vary, leading to differences in the effectiveness of their instruction. The 5E teaching model is a novel approach that combines five elements: engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, and evaluation, hence the name "5E" teaching model. This model emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, which enhances students’ interest and motivation to learn, ultimately leading to better learning outcomes. To address the current deficiency in street dance teaching in schools and training institutions, this study aims to incorporate the 5E teaching model into our instruction.Research methods: literature method, expert interview method, questionnaire survey method, experimental method, mathematical and statistical method.Research results:1.The indicators of the students in the experimental and control groups were compared using an independent sample t-test prior to the experiment. The results showed no significant differences between the groups.2.After the experiment,an independent sample t-test was performed to compare each index of the students in the experimental group before and after the experiment. The findings indicated that physical exercise significantly improved the students’ physical quality, increased their technical skill level, stimulated their learning interest, and enhanced their learning motivation.3.An independent sample t-test was conducted on various indicators of the control group before and after the experiment. The results showed that the traditional teaching mode was not effective in improving students’ physical fitness. When it comes to skill acquisition, students were able to master technical movements, but only in a passive learning environment. While the traditional teaching mode increased the degree of participation, learning enthusiasm, and attention to sports, there were no significant differences in terms of learning interest.Although the learning motivation of students in the traditional teaching mode increased, there were no significant differences observed.4.Following the experiment,an independent sample t-test was conducted on the indicators of the two groups of students. The results indicated that both the 5E teaching mode and the traditional teaching mode were effective in improving students’ physical quality, and there were no significant differences observed. However, the difference in motor skill performance between the two groups of students was more pronounced.Similarly, the difference in learning interest and learning motivation was also significant, with the 5E teaching mode demonstrating a greater impact.Research conclusion:1.Regarding skill performance, the motor skill performance of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group after the completion of the experiment.Additionally, the 5E teaching mode demonstrated a significantly greater improvement in motor skill performance compared to the traditional teaching mode. These findings suggest that the use of the 5E teaching mode is more effective in promoting skill learning among students, particularly in the teaching of street dance skills. Therefore,it can be concluded that the advantages of the 5E teaching mode in this context exceed those of the traditional physical education teaching mode.2.Following the completion of the experiment,it was found that the students in the experimental group had a significantly higher level of interest in learning performance compared to those in the control group. This suggests that the 5E teaching mode effectively stimulates students’ interest in learning, thereby improving their enthusiasm for learning.Furthermore, the 5E teaching mode has demonstrated greater advantages in fostering interest in learning street dance compared to the traditional physical education teaching mode.3.Following the experiment,it was found that the students in the experimental class had higher motivation levels than those in the control class. This indicates that the 5E teaching model can effectively enhance students’ motivation.4.The 5E teaching mode is an effective teaching approach that aims to stimulate students’ interest and improve their learning motivation. This mode involves five phases, namely introduction, exploration, explanation, refinement, and evaluation.Through these phases, students can better explore, understand, and apply street dance skills. The experimental research conducted using the 5E teaching mode in street dance courses has yielded better teaching results. Therefore, schools and clubs teaching street dance can benefit from using this model. |
