The Construction Of Female Discourse In Documentary

In the development of video culture in the contemporary era,the various ways of discourse in female’s documentaries have,in a way,changed the long-standing situation of women’s "loss of voice".The construction based on independent and initative female discourse image,expresses the various aspirations for gender equality,women’s rights and gender harmony,and reflects the deepening significance of women’s resistance to male-centric discourse in the new era.This paper focuses on the construction of women’s discourse in documentary images,and uses case studies and textual analysis to analyse and discuss different types of images of female’s documentary.Based on some basic concepts of feminism,this thesis examines the construction of various female discursive spaces in documentary images from five dimensions: female perspective,female consciousness,female image,discursive form and audiovisual expression,looking at the concept of female gender,the meaning of female subject,discursive-power form and the characteristics of video discourse.In the documentary images,this female perspective and the construction of female discourse forms,whether it is the diverse interpretation of modern women’s social life or the deeper cognition of women’s life value pursuit,all manifest the gender self-reflection,conceptual renewal and cultural renewal of female subjects in the development of modern society.The discursive space of the different forms of women’s documentary images reflects the "gender dilemma" and "self-dilemma" faced by women in society,family and life,and presents a new image and awareness of women’s own age,appearance,emotions,marriage and family.It further deepens a certain self-awareness of the meaning of women’s gender and women’s spiritual thinking.This reshaping of the discourse of the new female subject has renewed the values of the masculine discourse in the previous female documentary film space.
