Vocabulary teaching is the key content in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.For learners,mastering rich Chinese vocabulary is the prerequisite for them to learn Chinese well.At the intermediate stage,with the increase in the number and difficulty of vocabulary,many learners will have a certain degree of fear of difficulty in vocabulary learning.At the same time,in teaching,if only relying on traditional methods to practice the vocabulary learned,it is inevitable that learners will feel bored and not conducive to improving their learning enthusiasm.Due to its strong interest,games have been widely used in elementary vocabulary teaching,and have achieved certain teaching results.However,there are relatively few games dedicated to vocabulary teaching at the intermediate stage.Based on this,this article explores how to further innovate and enrich vocabulary games in this stage of teaching.First of all,this study took the vocabulary game in the third season of the TV teaching program "Happy Chinese" as the research object.After analyzing the characteristics of the program’s vocabulary game,we investigated the needs of teachers and students in the intermediate class of the Confucius Classroom at Manas University for vocabulary games through a questionnaire survey.Secondly,based on the actual teaching situation,select the corresponding vocabulary games from the program.Guided by constructivist learning theory,the "Input Hypothesis" theory,and the "Emotional Filtering Hypothesis" theory,with reference to the "International Chinese Language Education Chinese Level Standard",select the appropriate vocabulary from the textbooks used,design and transform the program game,and use relevant multimedia software to produce animation videos and game courseware explaining the game rules.Then,it is applied to actual classroom teaching.Through the analysis of teaching cases and feedback from questionnaires,it is concluded that:(1)It is feasible to apply program vocabulary games to vocabulary teaching at the intermediate stage.In terms of game design,it is more attractive for students to set up some suspense before answering questions,incorporate some interesting competition activities,or accompanied by some simple physical activities,and use some game props.(2)Using animated videos to explain game rules can effectively help students quickly understand game rules,thereby enabling them to better participate in the game.(3)Applying program vocabulary games to vocabulary teaching at the intermediate stage can effectively enhance the interaction between teachers and students,enhance the interest of vocabulary learning,stimulate students’ learning enthusiasm,and to some extent help students better learn and master vocabulary knowledge.Finally,in view of the use of program vocabulary games in teaching and the issues that need attention,it is proposed to strengthen the empowerment of multimedia technology and optimize the game presentation form;Using interesting competition activities skillfully to stimulate students’ interest in participating;Arrange game time reasonably to increase students’ practice opportunities;Pay attention to students’ emotional changes and help students establish correct game concepts;Establish a corresponding game resource library to facilitate the development of teaching activities for teachers.
