A Study Of Ancient Music History Of Ba State Based On Bronze Musical Instruments Of Ba Culture

"Ba" is an ancient state of southwest borderland in pre-Qin period of our country.In the early years of the Western Zhou Dynasty,the king of Zhou divided Ba into a vassal state,and the Zhou royal family sent a Ba named Ji to govern it.Due to the special geographical location,historical and natural environment,as well as social environment of the state of Ba State,the culture of Ba State which advocates military force,is fierce and good at fighting,worships witchcraft and believes in ghosts has gradually formed.These very distinctive Ba culture is also reflected in the bronze ware of the Ba people.Among them,the bronze musical instrument of Ba culture is an indispensable part of Ba culture,which is different from the bronze musical instrument of Central Plains and Chu state because of its non-stationary musical performance and unique shape and decoration.Based on the shape,decoration,function and combination of the bronze musical instruments of Ba culture,this paper explores the cultural exchanges among Ba,Shu and Chu hidden behind the bronze musical instruments of Ba culture through the research methods of musicology,music archaeology and history.And explores the ancient music history of Ba State in the pre-Qin period by taking the development of bronze musical instruments of Ba culture as the main clue.This paper will study the bronze musical instruments of Ba culture and the history of ancient music of Ba country from the following four parts:First,from the perspective of history,refer to historical documents and the research results of senior scholars in academia,research the origin of the Ba nationality and the history of the country,and make a definition of the time and space scope of the country.On this basis,it explores the characteristics of Ba’s bronze culture,and sorts out historical materials and music archaeological materials related to Ba’s music culture.Secondly,the bronze musical instruments of Ba culture unearthed in scientific archaeology and handed down in the folk are collected and sorted according to the shape and form of Musical Instruments from the perspective of musical archaeology and instrumental science.This paper analyzes and studies the combination of bronze musical instruments of Ba culture unearthed,and studies the function of bronze musical instruments of Ba culture through their musical performance,playing method and unearthed location.Thirdly,the music history of Ba State can be divided into three stages according to the music dances recorded in the literature and the unearthed bronze instruments,which are the embryonic stage of the music culture before the founding of the state of Ba State,the flourishing stage of the music culture from the early Western Zhou Dynasty to the collapse of the State of Ba State,and the continuation stage of the music culture after the collapse of the state of Ba State.Finally,through the study of the ancient music history of the Ba State,the origin and family characteristics of the bronze musical instruments of the country of Ba State are further researched.Based on this,the paper studies the relationship between the music culture of Ba and its neighbors Chu and Shu.While exploring the ancient music history of Ba State by focusing on the bronze musical instruments of the Ba culture,the historical development of the bronze musical instruments of the Ba State and the cultural relationship between the Ba and Chu and Shu countries are also explored and researched,trying to show the full picture of the music culture of Ba State in the pre-Qin period.
