The Nan Dou temple fair was originally the product of the Taoist star faith in the Han region.With the strengthening of the exchanges between various Minzu and the increase of social intercourse between Han and Bai people,the Nan Dou temple fair was introduced into Dali.During the process of the Nan Dou temple fair being introduced in Dali,the Bai people of Dali gave the uniquely ethnic colors to the Nan Dou temple fair and realized localization transformation.Although the Nan Dou temple fair has been in Bai people area of Dali for a long time the study of the academic community about Bai people’s Nan Dou temple fair is like a rare.Therefore,this article’s investigation and research on the Nan Dou temple fair form the Bai people of Qinganli will help enrich the study of Nan Dou temple fair,and especially supplement the study of Bai people’s Nan Dou temple fair ritual.This paper focuses on the Nan Dou temple fair of Bai people in Qinganli,Dali,this paper expounds and analyzes the background,connotation,process,interpersonal interaction and social function of the Nan Dou temple fair.Through investigations on the Qinganli Bai people’s Nan Dou temple fair,it can be seen that Bai people’s Nan Dou temple fair is not only one of the sessions of worshiping Six celestial beings of Dou constellation,but also one of the grand events for praying for health and peace in Dali.During the six-day Nan Dou temple fair,members of the Qinganli Lian Chi Association are responsible for organizing the ritual of Nan Dou,by the way,the ritual is also only attended by those members,and only three days holding the ritual it is different of other village in Dali.It realizes the localization of the combination of Han culture and the special culture of the minority ethnic group.The Bai people’s Nan Dou temple fair presents the diverse religious beliefs of the Bai people at the ritual.In addition to the Bai people’s unique beliefs,it also includes Taoism,Buddhism,and some other folk belief elements.Among them,the Taoist connotation in the Bai people’s Nan Dou temple fair ritual is the most abundant.In addition,the interpersonal communication presented during the Nan Dou temple fair also has certain characteristics.The location is not only at the village,and the personnel are not only limited to the members of the Lian Chi Association.While its impact has gradually spread out with the interpersonal interaction.It is also found that the cultural connotation contained in the Bai people’s Nan Dou temple fair itself and the educational role it played for it enabled it to be passed on and preserved and maintained from generation to generation.
