Research On Temple Fair Of Shihu Temple In Huining County Of Gansu Province

As a social and cultural phenomenon,temple fair is an important folk cultural activity in people’s daily life.Inheriting and carrying forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture is one of the important measures of cultural power,which plays an extremely important role in the construction and development of the country.Through the investigation of temple fair folk culture,it is not only conducive to inherit and carry forward the values of excellent traditional culture,but also helps to promote the construction of current rural culture and the implementation of Rural Revitalization Strategy.The study of Shihu Temple Fair will help to deepen the understanding of Huining local culture,increase the cases of temple fair research,and enrich the existing temple fair research to a certain extent.Guided by Morton’s social function theory,this paper makes a case study of Shihu Temple Association on the basis of field investigation and literature.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,there are four chapters.The first chapter introduces the geographical environment and human history of Shihu temple.The second chapter combs the evolution of Shihu temple from Yuan Dynasty to reform and opening up.The third chapter investigates the process of Shihu temple fair from the aspects of preparation before the fair,participation in public collective rituals and activities to catch up with the fair,which reflects that the life logic of people’s participation in temple fair activities is a kind of "good" consensus.The fourth chapter analyzes the social functions of local people and society from the perspective of Shihu Temple Association.Through the investigation of the above contents,this paper draws the following conclusions: in the promotion of modernization,there are two main reasons why Shihu Temple Fair has lasting vitality: on the one hand,people’s temple fair complex is one of the factors to maintain its lasting inheritance;on the other hand,the inheritance power of temple fair comes from people’s "good" logic.Shihu Temple Fair has become a force of local social order integration and played a role in social regulation.The three dominant functions of psychological adjustment,education in entertainment and economic exchange brought by Shihu Temple club,together with the potential functions of public morality and common spirit of kindness and virtue accumulation,work together in the local society,which is the social value and significance of Shihu Temple club.As a kind of cultural system,local temple fair has its own complexity,strong inertia and self adjustment ability to keep pace with the times.With the needs of the development of local cultural tourism,in the future for a long time,the fit between the potential function and the dominant function of Shihu temple fair,as well as the impact on the local society,need to do further investigation and analysis.
