A Study On The Rituals And Functions Of Rural Temples

This is a case study of the Third Goddess Temple Fair in Xingquan Village of Qinan City of Gansu Province.The temple temple is not only an integral part of Chinese traditional culture but also related to the people’s life in the village.I selected one of the many temples in Qin’an County as a representative and epitome of the Qin’an temple fair,through the temple rituals and functions of this point of view of its research.As the main line of the article,the development of "deities,legends,beliefs,temples and temple fairs" is the main thread of the article.The essence of the temple is the folk belief,which is the core of the gods worshiped.This article is based on the village folk temple as the object of study.Firstly,introduces the natural environment and historical cultural environment,of Qinan County,and then explains the village background of the Third Goddess Temple Fair from three aspects:the historical geography,the social economy and the cultural life.Secondly,the historical evolution and architectural layout of the temple of the Third Goddess were combed through,reflecting the establishment of the belief and the establishment of scope of faith;Legend as the external manifestations of faith,the text of the three saints through the collection of collusion to better understand the three saints faith to continue the reasons;by describing Village people to participate in the activities of the Third Goddess Temple Fair ceremony and the temple fair in the process,reflect the local culture and people’s psychological and spiritual world;Through the analysis of the temple ceremony in people,things,things such as symbols,it shows the local culture of ceremony behind lasting appeal and meaning.Finally,it expounds the function of religious belief,social integration,auspicious entertainment and economy in the village life.
