Tai Hao Tomb Temple Fair is a ceremony for commemorating the “Humanities Ancestor”--Tai Hao Fuxi. The oldest anniversary can be traced back to Shang or Zhou dynasties, after two thousand years of traditional ceremony till now.Nowadays the ceremony is held daily and monthly, especially the “February gathering”,which can last up to more than a month and is a pageant for ancestors worship, praying for blessing and entertainment. In this thesis,I'll take the fair of the "Gong" ceremony, toward the ancestral votive ritual, praying ceremony as the basis and present three sounds correspondingly, song(Jing Fu),dance(Dan Jingtiao),instrumental music(Wind and percussion music). And all musicers related to this have common characteristic,“madness”.The Xiangtongs' singing showed “ability of communicating with god”,with the metaphor for “crazy for gods”;the Zhaigongs' dancing looked for “pleasing gods and fitness”,indicating “the madness of human and gods”;wind and percussion music present “rewarding gods as well as benefit themselves”,underlying “crazy for benefits”.The three music forms above, singing, dancing, instrumental music have close connection with the local artistic form.So the writer interprets the emblematic function of music from the perspective of multicultural, revealing temple participants of the worship of the gods, ancestors and reproductive hidden behind "insane" behavior. We are trying to ceremony related act, music and implements' cultural connotation about emotional catharsis, moral education, psychological satisfaction, pleasing gods and fitness, identity, reflecting the insider's understanding for Fuxi faith and positive attitudes towards the real life, and also clarifying the relationship between fair music and local folk music —“Intertextuality”.
