Abstract/Summary:
This article mainly from the diachronic point of view,in-depth study of"jin ru"(进入)verbs"jin"and"ru"(入)semantic evolution. In the process of investigation, through the analysis of its various meanings and semantic characteristics, trying to construct the semantic evolution path of"jin ru"(进入)verbs, and from the relationship between the various meanings,to further explore the way and mechanism of semantic evolution, summed up the commonness and difference of the evolution of"jin ru"(进入)verbs. In this paper, the words that express the entry from the outside to the inside of a space are called"jin ru"(进入).Since the"jin ru"(进入)is a typical displacement verb,it has basic semantic features such as[+displacement(位移)],[+starting point(起点)],[+path(路径)],[+end point(终点)]and[+direction(方向)].When expressing the meaning of"jin ru(进入)","jin"(进)and"ru"(入)are the most commonly used words, with high frequency of use, wide range of expression, relatively complex pragmatic functions, and typical semantic evolution. Therefore, this paper selects these two most representative"jin ru"(进入)words as the object of investigation, systematically sorts out their semantic evolution paths, and compares and analyzes their commonalities and differences. The article is divided into three parts : introduction, text and conclusion. The introduction part of the first chapter clarifies the reasons for the selection of the topic, the research status at home and abroad, and the source of the research data. The second chapter examines the semantic evolution of"jin"(进).According to the corpus collected in the literature, the semantics of"jin"(进)are classified and sorted out.It is concluded that"jin"(进)is divided into two evolution paths of"progress"and"jin"(进)from the meaning of"advance",and the meaning of"jin ru"(进入)is extended to"become an official","recommendation","income, storage"and tendency.Among them, the meaning of"recommendation"evolved into the meaning of"offering"which specifically expresses respectfully giving something, and then further extended from the meaning of"offering"to the meaning of"eating".The third chapter examines the semantic evolution of"ru"(入)."Ru"(入)is the word with the longest use time and the most extensive semantic development in the word"jin ru"(进入)and its original meaning is"jin ru"(进入).This chapter combines the displacement elements with the image schema to conduct a cognitive analysis of"ru"(入),and concludes that"ru"(入)is extended from the meaning of"jin ru"(进入)to the meaning of"participation","acceptance",’submission"and tendency.Because of the different semantic features highlighted by the action process of"jin ru"(进入),the meaning of"acceptance"has evolved into the meaning of"income"and"conformity".The fourth chapter analyzes the commonalities and differences in the semantic evolution of"jin ru"(进入)verbs. In terms of commonality, the semantic features of"jin"(进)and"ru"(入)are similar, both of which have the semantic features of[+inline(内行)],[+displacement(位移)],[+starting point(起点)],[+path(路径)],[+end point(终点)]and[+direction(方向)].The semantic evolution paths of the two are also similar.Due to the change of the structural form and the generalization, differentiation and fusion of the meaning itself,"jin"(进)and"ru"(入)have evolved word meanings. At the same time,"jin"(进)and"ru"(入)have also been blurred in use,and finally completed the transformation from lexical unit to grammatical unit.In terms of differences, the evolution mechanisms of"jin"(进)and"ru"(入)are different."Jin"(进)mainly involves metaphors in space and path, while the evolution mechanism of"ru"(入)is mainly metonymy, which replaces the overall action with stage action. In addition, the semantic emphasis of the two is also different."jin"(进)focuses on the process of action, while"ru"(入)focuses more on the result of action, which leads to the gradual division of labor between the two and the differentiation of different meanings. The conclusion part summarizes the problems explored in this paper and points out the shortcomings of the article.
