Study On The Semantic Evolution Of Chinese Verbs In The "Kao Jin" Semantic Field

As a typical and commonly used displacement verb," Kao jin " verb can directly reflect the commonality and difference of human cognitive imagery,but the semantic evolution of " Kao jin " verb has not yet been systematically and comprehensively studied and investigated in this paper.This paper is a systematic and comprehensive study of the semantic evolution of " Kao jin " verbs,so this paper takes "Ji","Jiu",and "Kao" as the starting point to explore the development of "Kao jin" verbs systematically based on previous studies.The paper discusses the development of the verb "Kao jin" systematically based on previous studies.This paper addresses the following three questions: 1)What is the path of semantic evolution of the verbs "Ji","Jiu" and "Kao" in the sense of "Kao jin " ? 2)What are the commonalities and differences in the semantic evolution of "Ji","Jiu",and "Kao" ? 3)What are the predictable patterns in the semantic evolution of Chinese "Kao jin" verbs?In this paper,we focus on the semantic evolution of "Kao jin" verbs from a chronological perspective.The verbs "Ji","Jiu" and "Kao" are the three words used in the field of "Kao jin" in Upper,Middle and Modern Chinese respectively,with the relationship of change in time.In the process of investigation,the paper clarifies the nodes developed from the meaning of "Kao jin" by combining semantic features,syntactic position and pragmatic functions,and connects the semantic functions of each word according to the path,integrating a complete dynamic semantic map.On this basis,we compare the commonalities and differences in the evolution of the three words,summarize the patterns of the semantic evolution of the "Kao jin" verb,and explore the motives and mechanisms of the semantic evolution of the "Kao jin" verb.This paper is divided into six chapters,the first one is the introduction,which explains the reason of selecting the topic,the research objective,the current situation of the study,the framework of the study,the research method and the sources of the corpus.The second to fourth chapters adopt the same research idea,first describing in detail the specific usage of the "Kao jin" verbs "Ji","Jiu" and "Kao".Then we focus on the enrichment and syntactic expansion of the semantic types of the combined components,and in the process we find out the prominence or disappearance of the meaning elements,and explore how "Ji" "Jiu" and "Kao" are used in specific contexts." is how different semantic functions are derived in specific contexts or syntactic environments,and finally a semantic evolution path diagram is strung out according to a complete evolution chain.Chapter5 is a generalization based on Chapters 2 to 4,and identifies commonalities in the semantic evolution of "Kao jin" verbs,with similarities in the evolutionary paths and changes in semantic elements.The differences in semantic evolution are reflected in three aspects: time,core meaning,and degree of defocusing.Chapter 6 is the ultimate goal of this paper.The purpose of semantic evolution research is to find the laws of evolution that can explain past changes and predict future trends.This chapter explores the patterns of semantic evolution of "Kao jin" verbs,the mechanisms and motives of evolution.This study improves the systematic study of Chinese "Kao jin" verbs,helps to understand the lexical evolution of the semantic field of the concept of "Kao jin",enriches to a certain extent the refinement of the study of Chinese displacement verbs,and has some implications for the study of other common words.The study is also useful for the study of other common words.
