| The university years are a special stage of personal growth.inferiority is a factor that cannot be ignored behind the various psychological conflicts and contradictions that arise during this period.inferiority has a great impact on the development of college students. It is also a component of mental health. As university students are the backbone of the nation, their physical and mental health is directly related to the future development of the country.Existing studies on inferiority have mostly adopted a variable-centered perspective and analyzed it at the group level, ignoring the heterogeneity among individuals.Based on this phenomenon, this study attempts to explore the types of inferiority among college students from an individual-centered perspective, using latent profile analysis. To analyze the initial sandtray characteristics of different types of college students on this basis. Then to explore the mechanism of sandtray intervention for inferiority through a case study of the use of sandtray games for college students’ inferiority intervention. The study includes three aspects: In Study 1,Using the Inferiority Scale and the Implicit Inferiority Test Program IAT,503 college students in Haikou were measured for their explicit and implicit inferiority. The potential profile analysis method was used to explore the potential types of inferiority complex among college students. In Study 2,the differences in the types and number of sand tools, types and number of scenes, thematic features, and detailed features of the sandtray works were analyzed in the initial sand trays of university students with different types of inferiority complexes. In Study 3,a college student with high explicit and implicit inferiority levels was selected for intervention in a non-themed sandtray. The mechanism of sandtray was explored using the grounded theory. The findings of the study were as follows:(1)Implicit inferiority was prevalent in the college student.(2)There is a separate structure between implicit and explicit inferiority of college students.(3)The potential profile analysis showed that college students’ inferiority could be divided into three types: low inferiority accounting for 16.7%,medium inferiority accounting for 50.5%,and high inferiority accounting for 32.8%.(4)There were significant differences between the three types of low inferiority, medium inferiority, and high inferiority in terms of place of birth, gender and grade. No significant differences in terms of whether they were only children.(5)There were significant differences in the types of sand tools, types of scenes, detailed features, and thematic features of the initial sand tray between the low inferiority, medium inferiority, and high inferiority.(6)The intervention of non-themed sandtray can effectively reduce the level of college students’ explicit and implicit inferiority. The intervention mechanism includes three aspects:the ability of visitors to "self-sublimate",the "unique advantages" of sandtray, and the emotional support of " listener ". |
