The Jin Dynasty was mainly a multi-ethnic dynasty state established by the Jurchen ethnic group, with ethnic groups under its rule including Jurchen,Bohai,Khitan,Han,and others.Although Jurchen was a ruling class, the number of people was relatively small. The ethnic groups under her rule, such as Bohai and Khitan, had already adapted and accepted the political system and ritual culture of the Han people to a considerable extent due to their long-term proximity or residence on the edge of the Han region. Therefore,in the process of developing southward, the emerging Jin Dynasty regime must appropriately transform its original nomadic culture, and consolidate and strengthen its own rule by continuously learning from the advanced political system and Confucian ethical culture of the Han regime in the Central Plains. In these political systems and ethical cultures, the title system of royal female relatives is an important aspect.During the tribal period where Jurchen people lived by water and grass, there was no "royal female family" or title system for upper class women. They mainly followed their social customs to address them, reflecting their primitive and simple characteristics. After the establishment of the Jin Dynasty, the Jurchen society entered the feudal era,and the hierarchical concept of hierarchy between the upper and lower levels significantly deepened. The Jurchen royal family introduced the title system of the Central Plains dynasty in order to differentiate themselves from their subjects in terms of hierarchy. The complete and standardized system of titles for female family members of the Jin Dynasty was mainly created during the Xizong period and has been continuously improved since then. The implementation of this system not only helped to promote Jurchen’s absorption and reference of Central Plains culture, promote its feudal process, but also played a positive role and significance in its political rule, social stability, and cultural integration. This article aims to enhance our understanding of the politics and society of the Jin Dynasty by sorting out and studying the titles of royal women in the Jin Dynasty. This article is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, which first introduces the origin, purpose, and significance of this study.Secondly,it reviews relevant concepts such as titles and the imperial family members of the Jin Dynasty.Once again,it systematically reviews the current research status of this article. The second chapter sorts out the title system and its development context of the imperial female family members of the Jin Dynasty and previous dynasties.Chapter 3 analyzes and summarizes the establishment and improvement of the Jin Dynasty imperial female family title system,as well as the characteristics and changes in the use of titles, through the organization and statistics of various types of imperial female family titles in the Jin Dynasty. The fourth chapter summarizes and studies the characteristics of the titles given to the female family members of the Jin Dynasty. The fifth chapter analyzes and explains the significance of the titles of royal family women in the Jin Dynasty.Based on the content of the first three chapters,it analyzes and studies the political, social, and cultural significance of the titles of royal family women in the Jin Dynasty, and summarizes the significance of the titles for the political rule, social stability, and cultural integration of the Jin Dynasty.
