At the Ideological and Political National Conference in Colleges and Universities,the concept of "ideological and political education" was remarked by General Secretary Xi Jinping.Comprehensively promoting the ideological and political education construction is a strategic measure to implement the fundamental task of morality education.Now the research on ideological and political education mainly focuses on higher education,but few on basic education.Teenage is a critical period,needing careful guidance.This thesis aims to know the practice of integrating ideological and political education elements into junior high school English class,and analyzes problems and their causes,and explore effective strategies.This thesis adopts qualitative and quantitative methods,using questionnaires and interview,to conduct an investigation and analysis on the practice of integrating ideological and political education elements into English class.It focuses on three questions.Firstly,what are the teachers’ attitudes to ideological and political education? Secondly,what is the current status of it in junior middle school English class? Thirdly,what are the main factors affecting the implement of ideological and political education in junior high school English class?It indicates that,as for teacher’s attitude,it is relatively deficient in teachers’ concern about ideological and political education elements during teaching practice.For the practice of it,humanistic qualities and traditional culture were more explored,but not enough in rule of law spirit.There is still development space for promotion in exploration of its elements;Teaching methods is mainly lecturing,which leads the ideological and political education to be homiletic;Effect is not significant.The development of students’ ideological level is not balanced.In influence factors,there mainly are teachers’ research on its knowledge,teachers’ teaching concept and energy.This thesis tries to analyze the reasons and give suggestions,such as reforming evaluation methods,training and improving teacher’s ability.Accordingly,it is enabled to provide some references for English teachers of junior high school.
