Exploration On Online Chinese Teaching Assisted By Micro-course In Ukrainian Confucius Institute

Abstract/Summary:
In recent years,Confucius Institute in Ukraine has been committed to promoting mutual understanding and exchanges between China and Ukraine,not only organizing various cultural activities to enhance friendship between the two countries,but also training a large number of Chinese language talents.From March 2022,due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine,the Confucius Institute in Ukraine had to transfer all offline course to online.Due to the lack of stable class conditions and a good learning environment,many Ukrainian students’ learning quality and efficiency have been reduced,and teaching activities have not been carried out smoothly.Faced with this situation,the Confucius Institute in Ukraine adjusted its working arrangement,changed its teaching mode and kept trying new teaching methods to improve the current difficult situation.In practice,the author found that micro-lessons as an auxiliary tool for online Chinese course can help improve the reality of online Chinese course,and thus it is necessary to conduct a special study.Based on the author’s teaching practice at the Confucius Institute in Ukraine,this paper explores the applicability of microlearning as an aid to online Chinese teaching and shows concrete and feasible teaching strategies and implementation examples in order to improve the current difficulties of online Chinese teaching at the Confucius Institute in Ukraine and to meet the expectations of Ukrainian students in learning Chinese,as well as to provide experience and reference for future research on online Chinese teaching in Ukraine.This paper uses questionnaires,literature,and other methods.This paper adopts questionnaire survey method,literature research method and case study method to study how microlearning can assist online Chinese teaching in Confucius Institutes in Ukraine.It is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction,which explains the reason for choosing the topic,the significance of the study,the research review and the research method.The second part is to understand the basic situation of Chinese language teaching in the existing Confucius Institutes in Ukraine through distributing questionnaires,interviews and reviewing official materials.Taking the Confucius Institute of V.N.Karazin Kharkiv National University University as an example,we investigate and analyze the practical dilemmas of Confucius Institutes in Ukraine in terms of both live and recorded classes,and provide specific directions and practical support for the subsequent research.The third part discusses the advantages and practical necessity of using micro-lessons to assist online Chinese teaching in both theory and practice based on the theories related to micro-lessons and online Chinese teaching.The fourth part is a practical exploration of micro-learning assisted online Chinese teaching from three stages: before,during,and after the class,including the selection of teaching contents,the selection and production of micro-learning courseware,and the specific applications in different stages,providing solutions to unexpected problems in the classroom.The last part is to provide a complete implementation example of micro-learning assisted online Chinese teaching,with the help of quizzes and questionnaires to give feedback on micro-learning assisted online Chinese teaching,reflect on the shortcomings of the example and suggest improvements.
