A Translation Project Report On Tender Documents Of Malaysia Mass Rapid Transit Corporation SDN BHD

With the continuous advancement of international trade integration,an increasing number of Chinese enterprises engage in international business activities,and bidding has gradually become an important way of goods procurement and project contracting.The tender documents serve as an essential legal guarantee in international cooperation.The accurate understanding and expression of tender documents can clarify the relationship between the rights and obligations of both parties,reduce divergences,and ensure the smooth process of cooperation.Thus,the significance of high-quality tender document translation become prominent.The report on translation practice is based on an English-Chinese translation project entrusted by Malaysia Mass Rapid Transit Company.In the report,the translation activity and reflection are discussed through an analysis of translation process and application of the principle of language economy.It focuses on two issues: the principles that should be followed in the tender document translation guided by the principle of language economy;the application and feasibility of the principle of language economy in English-Chinese translation of tender documents.Firstly,the report gives a comprehensive review of this translation practice.Secondly,it introduces and analyzes the stylistic features of the tender document,and sorts out the concrete embodiment of language economy in the text of the tender document.Furthermore,based on the specific application of the principle of language economy in tender document translation,it concludes that the principle of language economy plays a significant guiding role in tender document translation.Finally,the author conducts a tentative reflection on the translation practice and the application of the principle of language economy,and puts forward some corresponding suggestions.Based on the translation practice and the application results of the principle of language economy,this report demonstrates that the principle of language economy can be effectively applied to the tender document translation.In addition to the simplicity of language,the real meaning of the principle of language economy is to achieve the best communication effect with relatively concise language.The author believes that following the principle of language economy means that the translated text should be clear,concise and expressive.Specifically,it should be economical and expressive simultaneously.Language economy principle can fall into the category of language aesthetics.Of course,we must deal with the relationship between simplicity and clarity rationally.In the case of simplicity but not clarity,we should give up simplicity for clarity.It is expected that this report can be of certain reference for the application research of language economy and the translation of tender documents from the perspective of practical experience of tender document translation and the application of the principle of language economy in tender document translation.
