Practice Report On Translation Of Tender Document From The Perspective Of Theory Of Text Typology

From the perspective of Reiss?s theory of text typology,this report classified the tender document-Woodlands Subway Contract T206 of Singapore-into informative text.It also summarized relative strategies and tactics in translating such type of text.From the aspects of vocabulary and sentence,this paper,based on examples,demonstrates the function of the theory of text typology in translating informative text respectively from English to C hinese by using word-adding or word-omitting method,the translation of nominalization structure as well as translation of passive voice,order changing and sentence-splitting method.What can be acquired from this translation report is that the type of the text and translation are inseparable.It has important significance to the translator to determine and understand the type of the text and its function.Thus,the translation methods under the guidance of Reiss?s theory of text typology can be effectively used in translation practice.Therefore,the equivalence between the source text and the target text will be achieved as much as possible.Reiss?s theory of text typology is very instructive in translation.It not only gives the translator clear execution standard in the process of translation,but also exerts good guiding effect on choosing translating methods and on evaluation standard to the translated work.Therefore,this theory can be applied to guide the translation of different types of text.
