This paper uses analysis, inductive and questionnaire methods to collect the exercise patterns from five sets of international Chinese language education primary comprehensive textbooks as a research sample, and inducted and analyzed the exercises themselves based on the commonalities among them. The results show that there is indeed a systematic relationship between the upper and lower levels in the classification of exercise patterns. In this paper, there are three patterns of parent patterns: namely,parent-multiple-choice,parent-fill-in-the-blank and parent-copying exercise. The parent multiple-choice exercises include two types of sub-exercise:sub-multiple-choice and sub-choose-and-fill-in-the-blank questions. The parent fill-in-the-blank exercises include scenarios, outline essays, and indefinite narrative exercises.Parent-copying exercises include three types of sub-pronunciation exercises,sub-prose exercises, and sub-repeat exercises. After the generalization of exercise patterns, the paper discusses the extension of different exercise patterns in terms of three levels of restriction: "restricted,semi-restricted,and open",and finds that different exercise patterns have different performance under different levels of restriction, but not all question types can be extended.Different types of exercises have their own characteristics that affect their performance in terms of the degree of restriction.Based on the above findings, the author give examples of practical applications and summarize a roadmap of exercises design according to restriction theory. This paper presents a roadmap for classifying upper and lower level exercise patterns, extending the performance of exercise patterns under different degrees of restriction, and applying them in practice, which can be a realistic reference for the design of such exercises, and also provides algorithmic rules for the selection of exercise patterns that can be used for automatic machine assembly of such contents. |
