In the 2017 edition of the English Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools,the requirements for students’ writing ability are clearly defined.It involves structured descriptions of experiences and expressions of feelings.It is also required to describe the course of events,describe the characteristics of people or things,and explain concepts.Students also need to learn summary or continuation of the text.However,There are some problems in senior high English writing teaching,such as separation of learning and application,and focus on input rather than output.In recent years,more and more scholars have paid attention to Production-oriented approach.Scholars have tried to apply it to senior high English teaching.They have fully discussed the combination of Production-oriented approach and senior high English writing teaching.The purpose of this practice is to change the teaching status quo and build efficient classrooms.This research follows the implementation process of Production-oriented approach.The research objects are 60 students in class 107,grade 1of a senior high school in Hejian City,Cangzhou City,Hebei Province.This research explores the application of Production-oriented approach in senior high English writing teaching.It also explores its influence on students’ interest in English learning and writing performance.The way to do that includes pro and post test,questionnaire survey,interview,teacher journal and other methods.After a 16-week teaching research,the following two questions were attempted to be answered:(1)How to apply the Production-oriented approach in senior high English writing teaching?(2)How does Production-oriented approach affect Students’ interest in English learning and writing performance?The research results show that:(1)The application of Production-oriented approach in senior high English writing teaching follows the teaching process of“ Motivating-Enabling-Assessing”.First,Motivating should present a real communication scenario.Second,in the Enabling process,teachers should select input materials in advance.Input materials should be closely related to output tasks.Finally,Assessing includes two forms: immediate assessing and delay assessing.(2)Production-oriented approach can improve students’ interest in English learning and writing performance.This research reflects the advantages of Production-oriented approach in writing teaching.A new teaching model is offered to senior high English writing teaching.
