In the early 1930s,the cursive script of the Han bamboo slips,"The Collection of Yongyuan Utensils",was unearthed under the ancient beacon ruins in the Ejina River basin in Inner Mongolia,and is now stored in the Institute of History and Language of the "Academia Sinica" in Taiwan.It is a report from the Southern Marquis of Guangdi to report on the weapons and daily necessities equipment of the Pohu Tunnel and Jianshang Tunnel to the Marquis of Guangdi.It is also the longest and most complete compiled book ever unearthed.From the perspective of calligraphy art,the "Yongyuan Utensil Collection" has many value that can be studied and learned.Its brushstrokes are both sharp and simple,with a lively and witty structure.The rhythm of the composition changes clearly and transitions naturally,and the ink color is light,heavy,and dry.And the arrangement is orderly,and the text content is coherent,which can reveal the standardized procedures of the Han Dynasty books.As a clear handwritten ink mark,it most realistically and intuitively reflects the writing form of cursive script entering its mature stage at that time.It is a typical representative of the important transitional role of Han Jian cursive script in the development history of cursive script,providing a new reference and new ideas for the current study of cursive script.This article analyzes the quantity of military living equipment in border defense at that time and the cultural environment of Juyan border defense by interpreting the content of the "Compilation of Yongyuan Utensil Book".The focus is on exploring the art and aesthetic value of cursive script in this compilation,specifically from four aspects: the combination of ancient and new pen features,rich and varied character structures,the form of transition and integration,and the rich imagery of ink beauty.Revealing that this compilation,as a representative work of the transitional period between ancient and modern cursive calligraphy,possesses both practical and aesthetic attributes,as well as the magnificent and vigorous calligraphy aesthetic characteristics,reflecting the magnificent and broad Han Dynasty atmosphere and the confident and free spirited cursive spirit.Through this study,it is demonstrated that the cursive script on the Han bamboo slips has inspired the author in copying,learning,and creating works.Based on the techniques and formal principles of the cursive script on the bamboo slips,some opinions and understandings of the author are proposed,hoping to contribute to the research on this compilation.
