At present, the academic community’s theoretical construction of Chinese art history has become more and more perfect, from focusing on the macro-historical framework at the end of the last century to focusing on the scrutiny of academic discourse, case analysis and cross-research between other disciplines, and art theory has become more diversified and complex. As one of the basic directions of art theory,in-depth study of art history helps us grasp the context of art development, and the comparative study of Chinese and Western art culture is one of the hot spots in current research.Dong Qichang is in late Ming China from the late 16 th century to the early 17 th century,Wolflin is in Europe from the late 19 th century to the middle of the 20 th century, the two art historians carry out art history research in different backgrounds, different ideas for art history research, different modes of art history research, and different methods for art history research, but the two have striking similarities in some aspects,in the call and support for artistic change, emphasizing the influence of region on the formation of artistic styles. The emphasis on the richness and perfection of the form of the work is consistent.Because there is no research to compare the two, especially from the perspective of art history. Therefore, through a large number of theoretical data combing and classification, this paper attempts to analyze the problem logic and research direction of the two art history views through the comparative study of Dong Qichang and Wolflin’s art historical views, deepen the understanding of the two art historical views, and clarify the influence of their art historical views on the development of art in later generations. |
