| Mengfu Zhao and Qichang Dong were calligraphers with essential influence in the calligraphy circles of the Yuan and Ming dynasties respectively.They had a far-reaching impact on later generations and have always been the focus of academia.Both Mengfu Zhao and Qichang Dong have a large number of inscription works handed down to generation,which have become important materials in the study of calligraphy history.This paper focuses on the inscriptions and postscript of the two calligraphers.By comparing their background,teachers,later evaluation and the artistic characteristics of their inscriptions,we can reveal the calligraphy thoughts in their inscriptions and postscript,the similarities and differences in their artistic concepts,and the profound influence on the calligraphy creation of future generations. |
