Language and culture complement each other.There is a consensus in the field of second language teaching that learning a second language requires not only mastering its grammar,vocabulary and other rules,but also understanding the cultural information reflected in the language to avoid communication barriers caused by cultural differences in the process of language use.The author was lucky to attend the online China Overview course of the College of Chinese as a Foreign Language,Shanghai Normal University,and found new problems arising from the change of teaching environment during the course of classroom observation.If online teaching wants to ensure the same course quality as offline teaching,teachers can’t read the book and need to make certain adjustments to the teaching model.In view of the problems in the current online China Overview course,this paper combines the flipped classroom teaching mode,and takes the "tourism culture" section as the starting point to carry out innovative research on China Overview course.The first chapter of this paper is the introduction,which briefly describes the research background,research content and significance as well as the research status of related content.The second chapter proves the adaptability of flipped classroom teaching mode to the "tourism culture" section of China’s general situation from the theoretical basis and the feasibility of teaching practice.First,compare the four syllabuses to find out the necessity for international students to learn Chinese culture through the China Overview course.Then,in combination with the survey of experts and scholars’ interest in the cultural content of international students,the statistics of the frequency of Chinese cities appearing in Chinese textbooks,and the teaching suggestions in the "Reference Framework for Teaching Chinese Culture and National Conditions for International Chinese Education",it is determined to select "Beijing" and "Shanghai" in the "Tourism Culture" section as the theme of this article’s teaching practice.Finally,according to the teaching hardware,teachers’ skills,students’ characteristics and curriculum content,it is proved that it is feasible to carry out the teaching of "Centennial Shanghai City" under the flipped classroom mode.The third chapter,based on the analysis and discussion in the second chapter,carries out the teaching design for the two courses of "Ancient Capital: Beijing" and "Centennial Shanghai City" respectively.The former adopts the traditional classroom mode,and the latter adopts the flipped classroom mode.According to the teaching design,the author carried out two teaching practices in the advanced language class of Shanghai Normal University.The fourth chapter finds that the traditional classroom teaching mode is different from the flipped classroom teaching mode through the comparison of teaching design;Through the comparison of diagnostic tests,it is confirmed that the efficiency of pre-class preview is improved under the flipped classroom model;Through classroom observation and comparison,it is proved that flipped classroom can improve teacher-student interaction and students’ language output rate;From the interview,we can feel the students’ recognition of the flipped classroom model,which proves that the combination of the "tourism culture" section of China profile with flipped classroom teaching has certain significance..The fifth chapter summarizes the experience from the problems found in the teaching practice,understands their ideas from the communication with students,reflects and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of flipped classroom,and puts forward corresponding teaching suggestions. |
