Abstract/Summary:
The Sogdianas,located in Samarkand in Central Asia,were the main bearers of the Middle Ages Silk Road trade.They are well-known for doing business along the Silk Road,carrying out long-distance trafficking,and establishing their own settlements along the route,and Turpan is one of the very important settlements.A large number of documents unearthed in Turpan show the living conditions of the Sogdianas on this land,showing the historical process of them coming to China from the east,gradually adapting to the local society,some of them settled down,and gradually integrated into other ethnic groups.Based on the documents unearthed in Turpan,this paper discusses the survival trajectory of the Sogdiana ethnic groups with the two surnames "Cao and He" in the historical development of Turpan.The Sogdianas with the surnames "Cao and He" are all over the social strata of Turpan,and they have been intermarrying for a long time to maintain their own ethnic system.They first came to Turpan for political or economic purposes,settled here,formed a close relationship network,and became part of Turpan society.This paper focuses on the social interactions of Sogdianas with the surnames "Cao and He" in Turpan,and explores the proportion of males and females and the population distribution of the Sogdianas with the surnames "Cao and He" from the perspective of population factors,and uses data analysis to reflect their migration scale.;Look at the social status of the Sogdianas ranging from officials,down to the trafficked human beings,slaves,etc.;and then starting from the occupational characteristics of the Sogdianas go deep into all walks of life and analyze their occupations Characteristics,social survival style,daily life and other situations;the Sogdianas showed a complex situation of believing in Buddhism and Manichaeism;and from a large number of Sogdiana historical materials,it can be analyzed that the Sogdianas not only carried out foreign affairs and other countries.There are long-distance sales between them,and there are also local fixed-point trades,which have always maintained their ethnic characteristics of good at business.The Sogdianas were a mobile commercial ethnic group.After entering Turpan,they had mutual relations with the local Han and other grassland nomads in all aspects of social life.Based on the Sogdiana historical materials unearthed in Turpan,this paper analyzes and studies the relationship between the Sogdianas in Turpan and the Han,Huns,Turks,Yanqi and other ethnic groups,and sorts out the Sogdiana ethnic groups with the two surnames "Cao and He" in Turpan.In order to present the rich connotation of the history of ethnic exchanges in the Western Regions in the Middle Ages.The Sogdianas with the surnames "Cao and He" appearing in the historical materials unearthed in Turpan migrated from Central Asia to Turpan under the relatively stable society of the Sui and Tang Dynasties,and the Central Plains Dynasty was committed to the governance of the Western Regions,and prospered under the policy of openness and tolerance.They engaged in trade,lived in the local area,built a bridge of communication among the various ethnic groups in the northwest in their unique way,and finally merged with the local residents and merged into the long river of development of the western ethnic groups,becoming the gene of the Chinese nation.
