A Study On The Martial Arts Culture Of Chivalrous Men In Sui Tang And Five Dynasties

Xiake is an important group in the inheritance of Ancient Wushu culture,especially Folk Wushu culture.From the sprouting of the pre Qin Dynasty to the disappearance of the Republic of China at the end of the Qing Dynasty,it has experienced the evolution of Chinese Wushu equipment and boxing for thousands of years.As an important historical stage of the development of chivalry and martial arts culture,the Sui,Tang and Five Dynasties saw the emergence of the martial arts examination system in the history of martial arts culture,while the cultural phenomenon of transition and differentiation appeared in the chivalry group,officially opening a new era of chivalry.Therefore,this study takes the martial arts culture inherited by Xiake of Sui,Tang and Five Dynasties as the research object.Through the research methods of literature,historical analysis and comparative analysis,taking the "three-level theory of Wushu Culture" as the theoretical tool and from the perspective of Wushu noumenon,this paper analyzes the historical background of the rise of martial arts and chivalry in the Sui,Tang and Five Dynasties;Martial arts cultural content inherited by Xiake;And rheological characteristics and historical influence.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The content of martial arts culture expressed by Xiake in Sui,Tang and Five Dynasties is mainly concentrated in the cultural artifacts and psychological level.In terms of cultural objects,it includes: swords,bows and other martial arts instruments used by Xiake;It also includes swordsmanship,bow shooting,lightness skills and other martial arts used by Xiake.At the psychological level of culture,it shows the chivalrous spirit of Wushu: the "righteousness" of Qi,the "courage" of righteousness,and the "loyalty" of sacrifice.(2)The characteristics of martial arts culture expressed by Xiake in Sui,Tang and Five Dynasties mainly focus on weapons,martial arts and martial arts chivalry spirit.First,the weapons used by Xiake are mainly bow and sword,and the sword has become the symbol of Xiake’s identity in this historical period;Second,the martial arts used by Xiake are mainly instrument martial arts,and the use of lightness skills reflects the characteristics of the times;Third,the martial arts chivalrous spirit expressed by Xiake,the blind "private righteousness" chivalrous style in its connotation,began to be gradually replaced by rational "justice" and become the mainstream of development.(3)The historical influence of martial arts culture expressed by Xiake in Sui,Tang and Five Dynasties is mainly reflected in martial arts,Xiake and martial arts literature.Firstly,in terms of the development of chivalrous men,the emergence of a large number of chivalrous men in the Sui,Tang and Five Dynasties officially opened the prelude to the integration of chivalry and martial arts;Secondly,in the development of Wushu,the further development of the integration of Xiake in the Sui,Tang and Five Dynasties promoted the formation of the mutual shadow mode of Wushu,Xiake and wuxia novels;Finally,in terms of the development of martial arts literature,the identity symbol of the swordsman’s sword in the Sui,Tang and Five Dynasties,as well as the depiction of swords in chivalrous novels,have established the symbolic position of swords in the connotation of martial arts culture in later martial arts novels.
