Research On The Development Of Modern Wushu From The Perspective Of Conceptual History

The history of ideas is the combination of ideological history and social history.All the behaviors of modern Chinese society can be found in the changes of modern ideas.Modern wushu,as an important carrier of the unification of thoughts and actions of modern Chinese people,must be influenced by ideas in its development.Similarly,the development of martial arts is also one of the inducements for the change of Chinese people’s related concepts in the specific environment of the clash of Chinese and Western cultures and the agitation of ideas in modern times.Therefore,this paper focuses on the evolution of modern concepts,clarify the development law of modern wushu,explore the interaction and connection between modern wushu and concepts,in order to continuously enrich the historical and cultural system of Chinese wushu and provide possible experience reference for the development of contemporary wushu It should be made clear that in the historical context of national salvation in modern times,education and science were highlighted as the path to national salvation,revolution was the means to achieve it,and the ultimate goal was the ultimate realization of a sovereign state.Therefore,the modern ideas discussed in this paper are limited to education,science,revolution and national ideas.With the comprehensive application of scientific research methods such as literature data method and logical analysis method,taking the development of modern wushu from the perspective of conceptual history as the research object,the research finds that:1.On the basis of traditional educational concepts,Chinese modern educational concepts are formed by absorbing western educational theories and adapting to Chinese society,and in this process,wushu is promoted to enter the field of school education.Yan Fu once put forward the theory of saving the nation through the education of the three people,in order to drum up the people’s strength,develop the people’s wisdom and new people’s morality through education.Modern scholars with the purpose of saving the nation all focus on education,so the modern concept of education has been fully developed.The Westernization school advocated "learning skills from foreign countries to control foreign countries" and "applying Chinese and Western skills" to achieve "self-reliance and self-improvement".They practiced their educational concepts by sending students,shipyards,school halls,organizing and training new armies,etc.At this time,martial arts existed only as an auxiliary training means in the military,and was ignored.After the failure of the Westernization Movement,people realized that "lack of military force" seemed to be the root cause of the "disease" of the nation,so they advocated "upholding military force" and wrote it into the educational purpose.As an important means to cultivate the military spirit of the people,wushu was initially taught in schools.With the introduction of the educational thought of "military national",the emphasis on military gymnastics makes wushu marginalized in school education.Meanwhile,wushu also actively tries to establish itself on the development road of "Chinese style" modern wushu based on the integration of China and West(such as the attempt of "Chinese New Wushu").With the decline of the educational thought of "military people",military gymnastics has withdrawn from the educational field,thus creating an opportunity for wushu to enter the physical education of schools.2.Chinese modern scientific concepts have experienced the process of learning and applying western science.The introduction of western scientific knowledge led to the debate between "science" and "tradition",which provided scientific theoretical support for the development of wushu in this process.In the fierce struggle of modern soil sports,traditional sports represented by martial arts were questioned,mainly because of the "unscientific" nature of "tradition",but this is not the basis for completely denying martial arts.Scholars such as Wu Zhiqing and Zhang Naiqi endorsed the scientific truth behind the bizarre phenomenon of traditional wushu and proposed that wushu should develop to a scientific way.It is mainly manifested in the scientific form of martial arts teaching:breaking the opinions of families,realizing the opening of class teaching,attracting a wide range of students,teaching with all one’s resources,combining fighting and practicing,promoting the spread of martial arts among the people;To study wushu from a scientific perspective:initially eliminate the dust encapsulation factor of wushu itself,and start the scientific sorting out of wushu theory and technology,which provides a scientific basis for wushu to promote health;The beginning of the study on the history of Wushu:Scholars represented by Tang Hao conducted in-depth historical data mining and scientific research on the origin and flow of wushu,eliminated the strange words attached to it,and clarified the development history of wushu.3.The concept of revolution in modern China broke the rigid cycle of changing rivers and mountains and changing dynasties,and took the pursuit of democracy and republic as the essence of revolution,which guided the revolutionary movement in modern China.Martial arts developed as an important means of revolution,especially the accumulation and popularization of national spirit.The invasion of foreign ethnic groups and the government’s failure to trust the people are the realistic portrayal of the health of the late Qing Dynasty.After the reform movement such as reform and constitutionalism,China still could not shake the deep-rooted feudal system.The success of the Meiji Restoration in Japan and the October Revolution in Russia provided the Chinese revolutionaries with confidence and motivation.Therefore,revolution became an inevitable choice for modern China,and it was the right way to go after many trials and errors.In modern revolutionary movements,martial arts as an important means to play a role.The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement and Boxer Rebellion are the manifestations of traditional Chinese revolutionary concepts.In the early stage,the initiators of revolutionary movements advocated military training and set up military training fields to enhance the combat effectiveness of the people.After the revolutionary movement began,martial arts directly became a weapon of war.During the period of the Revolution of 1911 and the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression,insufficient equipment was normal,so wushu still played an important role in the war,such as the "seventy-two martyrs of Huanghuagang" on the eve of the Revolution of 1911 and the "Broadsword Team" during the period of resistance against Japanese aggression.They not only killed the enemy with martial arts,but more importantly,they used the national spirit of military revolution and resistance to foreign invasion,which greatly stimulated the morale of the army and the people at that time.4.After being forced to integrate into the world order,the concept of the state in modern China gradually changed from the "view of the world" that "under the whole earth,there is no one but the king" to the self-identification of the nation state.In this process,wushu also started a new journey beyond the nation to the world.Since modern times,the military,political and educational circles represented by Zhang Zhijiang attached great importance to the effect of martial arts to strengthen the nation,and renamed martial arts as "Guoshu",raising martial arts to the level of national awareness.The establishment of the official wushu organization represented by the Central National Wushu Museum endows Wushu with the value appeal of realizing the national concept of independence,freedom and equality.If the widespread spread of martial arts in China is to enable people to pursue independence,freedom and equality,then the overseas spread of martial arts is to provide a recognizable cultural symbol for the Chinese nation to stand among the nations of the world.Judge the past and know the present.The development of modern wushu is deeply influenced by modern concepts.Through the research on the concept history of modern typical categories,it is helpful to better grasp the development law of wushu in this period,in order to provide reference for the development of contemporary wushu.
