Application Of Pen Drawing Techniques In Contemporary Easel Comic Strip Creatio

Pen painting is a new type of painting in China,with a history of only a few decades.Although the history of pen painting is short,so far,pen painting has made remarkable achievements.Since 2006,the Chinese Artists Association has successfully hosted four "New Steel Brush Painting Academic Exhibitions".In recent new academic exhibitions of pen and ink painting,many works have been presented in the form of comic strips,and in previous shelf comic strip exhibitions,works in the form of pen and ink painting are also relatively common.Due to the limitations of pen painting materials,it is generally used to express small scale works.This tool and painting form are just suitable for the creation of comic strips,and the realistic painting language that pen painting is good at has a natural affinity with contemporary easel comic strips that focus on reflecting real life.How to apply pen painting techniques to the creation of comic strips and use pen painting techniques to draw good comic strips is a topic that the author has been trying to solve.At present,there is very few research on the application of pen painting techniques in comic book creation.This article conducts a detailed analysis and discussion on the relevant issues of pen painting techniques in comic book creation,and takes classic works and my own pen painting creation practice as examples to carry out research.This paper discusses from three aspects.In the first chapter,the development status of pen painting in the background of the development of the era of easel comics is studied,and the works in the exhibition of easel comics that use pen painting techniques as a means of expression are analyzed.The second chapter analyzes some pen comic books these following four aspects: composition,brushwork,artistic language,and material characteristics.The third chapter,combining the researcher’s comic book creation practice,sorts out and summarizes many issues in the application of pen painting techniques to comic book creation,displays his creative process and experience,and studies the future development prospects of pen painting.
