The research on the "Dream of Red Mansions" comic strips is divided into four aspects: The first part mainly summarizes the emergence,development,and representative author profiles of the "Dream of Red Mansions" comic strips,discusses the inevitability of the "Dream of Red Mansions" comic strips’ emergence under the national conditions at that time,lists the series of "Dream of Red Mansions" comic strips,and defines the scope of investigation.Among them,the comic book "A Dream of Red Mansions" published by Shanghai People’s Fine Arts Publishing House in 1981 is the most representative set,providing a theoretical basis for the subsequent screen analysis.The second part analyzes and summarizes the picture layout and picture shaping of the comic book,finds out the regular composition method,and focuses on the display of the picture content,the portrayal of the characters and scenes,interprets the performance of the comic book Dream of Red Mansions,which provides the basis for later exploration and innovation,so as to take its essence and discard its dross.The third part focuses on exploring the narrative appearance of the comic book "A Dream of Red Mansions".The script text establishes the narrative tone of the comic book,so from which to start,on the one hand,the script creation method has already had a systematic process to facilitate the drawing of the comic book,on the other hand,the script creation principle is relatively simple and explicit,serving the people with lower literacy levels.Subsequently,the main characteristics of the narrative of the comic book "A Dream of Red Mansions" are summarized.The pictures and characters complement each other,and the pictures are relatively compact in spatial continuity,without creating a sense of spatial confusion.In the fourth part,the birth of various new media has provided a new way of thinking for painting,and the mutual reference of various art types has become an unavoidable topic at present.This chapter attempts to draw nutrition from the film language such as viewpoints,scenery,and narrative cohesion,and puts forward my humble opinions on the development of the comic book "A Dream of Red Mansions" in the modern era,hoping to achieve refreshing effects.In general,the comic strip "A Dream of Red Mansions" has a good performance in narrative ability and popularity,but it takes a positive perspective in the layout of the screen,with visual cohesion mainly focused on direct entry,and the screen is less interesting and artistic.The current painting environment is harmonious but different,and strategies should be changed to retain its basic form and be widely inclusive.
