As a culture created and inherited collectively by the people’s,folk customs are not rigid and immutable,but always develop and inherit in constant changes and adjustments.At present,China is in the critical period of reform and opening up.With the development of social economy and the change of times,a number of new folk customs have emerged in rural society.For example,he ceremony of car sacrificing in southern Shandong is a kind of new folk custom activity arising with the popularity of motor vehicles,which is the product formed by combining emerging things with folk traditions in rural society.Therefore,it is necessary to study this new village folk custom phenomenon from the perspective of social change.In the past,the attention of the academic circle to the new folk customs was mainly concentrated in the urban field,and many new folk customs phenomena were expounded from a macro and static perspective.Different from the previous studies,the paper takes the ceremony of car sacrificing that arose in Tuwa Village in southern Shandong Province in the late 1990s as a case study.From the perspective of social life changes,this paper turns its research vision to rural areas and discusses the background,reasons for its rise,ritual practice,development and evolution,and social influence of this new rural folk custom.It also reveals-some characteristics and general rules of the development of rural new folk customs.At the same time,this paper is different from the previous folklorism research of "only see the forest,do not see the trees",attention and emphasis on the practical subject of new folk customs,the People’s Daily life narrative combined with folk practice,study the complex interaction between people and the new folk custom,and take this to reflect on the definition and classification of rural new folk custom.This paper consists of the introduction,six chapters and the conclusion.The first chapter mainly investigates the natural conditions and human environment of Tuwa village,which provides the necessary time and space background for the discussion of the related issues of "car sacrificing".The second chapter combined with the background of The Times and the village environment,discusses the popularity of the sacrificial object "motor vehicle" in Tuwa village and its reasons.The third chapter analyzes the mechanism of Tuwa village ceremony of car sacrificing from two aspects:objective travel problems faced by villages and people’s subjective psychology.The fourth chapter,with the main body of ritual practice as the entry point,describes deeply the ritual process of Tuwa village,including the differences and similarities of annual car sacrificing and daily car sacrificing.The fifth chapter combined with the social change of the background of The times to analyze the changes of the ceremony of car sacrificing,so as to explore the development path of the new rural folk customs under the impact of The Times.Chapter six analyzes the profound influence of car sacrificing of Tuwa village on the village and the villagers,and discusses the function of "car sacrificing" that is a new village folk custom in the contemporary society.Through the investigation of ceremony of car sacrificing of Tuwa village.This paper finds that the form of rural new folk customs is far more complex than the previous academic understanding,it is necessary to further discuss its definition and classification. |
