Research On The Development Of Agricultural Economy In Guizhou Miao Area In Qing Dynasty

Agriculture is the foundation of the ancient Chinese society.For hundreds of years,the Miao has created a splendid civilization in the history of China’s agricultural.After a long period of continuous migration,to the early Qing Dynasty,Guizhou province became the main settlement of the Miao people.In this paper,the development of agricultural economy in Miao areas of Guizhou in the Qing Dynasty is selected as the research object,in order to provide case support for relevant research and provide reference for the development of agricultural economy in Miao areas today.The article consists of the following aspects: The first chapter mainly introduces the background of agricultural development in Miao area of Guizhou in Qing Dynasty,from the geographical distribution and natural geographical environment to discuss;the second chapter introduces the agricultural management system of Miao area in Guizhou in Qing Dynasty.The development of agriculture in a region cannot be separated from the support of national policies.The Qing government implemented policies and management systems that were beneficial to the agricultural development in this region,which objectively promoted the development of agricultural economy in Miao area in Guizhou.The third and fourth chapters are the main content of this paper.The third chapter mainly discusses the establishment of refined agricultural production mode in Miao area of Guizhou in Qing Dynasty from the construction of irrigation and water conservancy and the progress of farming technology.After the Qing Dynasty,a large number of immigrants poured into Guizhou Miao ethnic areas,bringing advanced agricultural production technology and production tools,and introducing high-quality,high-yield and cold-resistant crops.As a result,land reclamation area was further expanded,grain output was greatly improved,and intensive farming mode of production was gradually established.The fourth chapter introduces the main food crops including rise,corn,wheat etc..,and cash crops,including cotton,dye crops and tobacco,etc.The adjustment of planting structure is conducive to the further development of agriculture,the increase of crop yield,and lays a foundation for the commercialization of agricultural products.The fifth chapter discusses the achievements of agricultural economy development and the influence of agricultural development on social development in Guizhou Miao area since Qing Dynasty.During this period,apart from the planting industry developed,people also witnessed progress of handicraft industry and the prosperity of commodity trade,the rise of commercial towns and the change of the Miao people’s life customs.However,the economic development also brought more pressure to the resources and environment,resulting in local ecological changes,and puts forward some thoughts on the sustainable development of agriculture in the Miao region.This paper systematically combs the literature on the development of agricultural economy in Miao areas of Guizhou in the Qing Dynasty,studies the ecological environment,irrigation and water conservancy,farming techniques,main crops and cash crops in Miao areas of Guizhou in this period,clarifies the development path of agricultural economy in Miao areas of Guizhou,and analyzes the social impact brought by the development of agricultural economy.It is of great practical significance to the development of agricultural economy in Miao area.
