Capriccio Capriccio in Zhangjiajie is an orchestral work with regional style, which is created by the author with the folk music materials of western Hunan as the core. The work adopts a complex trilogy structure,a fast-slow-fast layout, and uses folk music materials such as Tujia "Dong Dong Kui",Sangzhi folk songs, and Tujia "Da Liu Zi" in Xiangxi to express the beautiful mountains and rivers and local customs in an orchestral way.Taking the orchestra "Zhangjiajie Capricorn" as the research object, this paper expounds the overall logical conception of the creation of the work, the selection and application of folk music language materials, the analysis of composition techniques, and the process of practical exploration, aiming at further improving the artistic quality of the work by combing, summarizing and analyzing it three-dimensionally.It is hoped that through the creation and research of the orchestral capriccio in Zhangjiajie,as well as the introduction and display of folk music in western Hunan, more songwriters will be aroused to pay attention to the music culture in this area,so as to make a modest contribution to the inheritance and development of folk music in western Hunan.
