Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844(hereinafter referred to as the Manuscripts)played a pivotal role in the formation of the ideological theory of the Praxis Group.Influenced by Western Marxism, the Praxis Group, from the standpoint of Marxist humanism, joined the Western Marxist critique of dogmatic Marxism through the interpretation of the Manuscripts, and analyzed the problems in the socialist countries of Eastern Europe using "alienation" as a theoretical paradigm. On the issue of the "two Marxes" debate, the Praxis Group takes the position that there is only one Marx, that there is continuity and consistency in Marx’s thought, and that Marx has always been concerned with the question of the human being as a practice.Through their interpretation of the Manuscripts, the Praxis Group tries to return to the real Marx, emphasizing the role of practice and using Marx’s dialectical method to analyze and criticize the social problems faced by the Yugoslav state, and then to propose concrete proposals for moving towards humanized socialism. The unique reading of the Manuscripts by the Praxis Group served to destroy the dogmatization of Marxism in Yugoslavia and, unlike some other humanisms, the Praxis Group gave it a praxis connotation under new historical conditions, freeing it from idealistic tendencies. The Praxis Group interpretation of the Manuscripts provides an important theoretical resource and a new perspective for a new understanding of Marx, but it is undeniable that, due to the constraints of the times, the Praxis Group understanding of the Manuscripts still has certain limitations.
