Thematic teaching method is a commonly used teaching method in Chinese as a foreign language.Unlike other language centered teaching methods,it emphasizes that teaching is student-centered and revolves around a single theme.This thesis combines its own teaching practice and focuses on second year undergraduate international students from Heilongjiang University as the teaching object.The teaching content is "Love Story",aiming to help students internalize language knowledge through the implementation of themed activities.The focus of the article is to design the teaching of "Love Story" with the main theme of "implicit expression of personal emotions" and the sub themes of "love" and "friendship".Through feedback on teaching effectiveness and reflection on teaching evaluation,the advantages and disadvantages of applying thematic teaching method in Chinese comprehensive courses were summarized,and suggestions were put forward from the aspects of vocabulary,text,grammar,and thematic activities.
