Strategies To Improve The Logic Of The Target Languag

As one of the criteria for interpreting evaluation,logic is very important.This requires interpreters to grasp the source language logic and to produce it in the target language.The corpus of this interpreting is the open course “Improving Communication Skills” given by Maurice Schweitzer,the professor at the University of Pennsylvania.As the source text,it has strong logical content,clear main idea,and coherence.Based on Effort Model in consecutive interpreting by Gile,bellow corresponding strategies have been found out to solve problems during the consecutive interpreting of open course,including logical information omission,logical information mistranslation,and inappropriate logical expression that does not comply with the target language expression standards.In the source language input process,interpreters should pay attention to meaning rather than language while listening,use prediction to reduce listening load,and make short-term memory and note taking complementary to achieve an efficient memorization.During the target language output procedure,the logical expression of the target language can be accurate and in line with the expression standards of the target language by strengthening output monitoring,adjusting word order,and utilizing complementary translation.
