2022 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference English-Chinese Simultaneous Interpretation Practice Repor

Nowadays,the world has entered the information age and many technological prod ucts have gradually entered people’s view.Many enterprises promote their products to the world in the form of product launches.The spokesmen of the conference often advertise their products in English,the most widely spoken language,thus providing opportunities for Technical English Interpreting.This report is based on the English-Chinese consecutive interpretation practice of the 2022 Worldwide Developers Conference.The Variational Translation Theory of Huang Zhonglian was adopted as the theoretical guidance for the interpretation practice,and specific interpretation cases were analyzed from three strategies,namely addition,omission and adaptation,to solve the problems of misinterpretation,improper word order and other problems encountered in the interpretation process.The report is divided into four parts: the first part introduces the interpreting practice from the corpus selection and practice characteristics;the second part explains the preparation before interpretation and the process of consecutive interpretation practice;the third part starts from the Variational Translation Theory,exploring the application of the three strategies of addition,omission and adaptation in the practice of consecutive interpretation and the fourth part summarizes the practice through reflection and application.
