| The "English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)"constructs a curriculum structure based on a grading system,and sets a "level+" in the curriculum content to provide choices for students who have spare time to learn;In terms of teaching,it is required to pay attention to the different learning needs of students,teach according to their aptitude,design learning tasks with different difficulty levels and assign differentiated assignments for students with different abilities and learning styles,all of which are consistent with the concept of stratified teaching.A large amount of practice has shown that in the context of primary school English teaching mainly based on class teaching,stratified teaching can well adapt to the needs of the times,respect the differences and needs of individuals at different levels,and still have broad development prospects in current primary school English teaching.In teaching practice and observation,it can be found that stratified teaching in primary school English has achieved certain results,but the existing problems cannot be ignored.How to more effectively carry out stratified teaching in primary school English teaching is still a problem worth exploring.From the existing literature,there is a clear focus on research on English stratified teaching.From the perspective of the research period,it is mostly concentrated at the university,vocational college,and high school levels,with less attention paid to stratified English teaching in primary school.From the perspective of research methods,theoretical research is significantly more than applied research.In theoretical research,there are many studies on strategies,models,and inspirations of English stratified teaching,but there is less attention to existing problems and solutions.There is a lack of reflection and observation on the overall status of English stratified teaching.In this situation,it is necessary to conduct specialized research on the current situation of stratified teaching in primary school English,to identify the problems in depth and find corresponding countermeasures.The research mainly used literature review,questionnaire survey,interview,and observation methods.After reviewing relevant literature on individualized teaching theory,mastery of learning theory,recent development zone theory,and stratified teaching,it was found that the effective implementation of stratified teaching is influenced by factors such as teachers’ and students’ understanding and attitude towards stratified teaching,teachers’teaching preparation and design,teachers’ adjustment and stratification of teaching content,classroom activities and methods,and methods of evaluating students.The dimensions of questionnaire surveys and teacher interviews are based on this.Through distributing survey questionnaires,conducting interviews,and classroom observations at S Primary School in R City,it can be found that there are currently the following main problems in stratified English teaching in primary schools:teachers have unclear understanding of stratified teaching and do not have a strong willingness to implement it;Using student grades as the main basis for student stratification,and designing stratified goals is just a formality;The adjustment of teaching content is not deep enough,and there is a lack of layered design in specific links;The implementation of classroom layered activities is not standardized enough,and some activities have not been implemented;The improvement effect on underachievers is not significant,and the evaluation methods for students’ learning are single.After analysis,the main reasons for the above problems are:lack of learning of stratified teaching theory,heavy workload leading to teacher burnout;lack of reasonable layering standards and quality requirements in the design of layering objectives;insufficient understanding of the requirements and methods for adjusting stratified teaching content;lack of targeted guidance for the implementation of stratified teaching in the classroom;lack of attention to students with learning difficulties,and inadequate student evaluation system.Based on this,the research proposes the following solution strategies:combining strengthening stratified teaching training with reducing the workload of teachers;establish reasonable stratified standards and strengthen the awareness of target design quality;clarify the principles and methods for adjusting stratified teaching content;strengthen the guidance of teaching process and construct efficient layered classrooms;seek countermeasures to transform underachievers and improve the stratified evaluation system for students. |
