| In the era of high-speed development of artificial intelligence, the performance of both machine translation software and computer has been greatly improved, which has enabled machine translation technology to make great progress and be widely used in translation activities. The main advantage of machine translation is its speed in batch translation. The biggest shortcoming is that it does not understand natural language very well,so high-quality translation still needs to be human-led.As a necessary complement to machine translation,post-editing is an important way to improve the quality of translations. The human-machine interaction model of “machine translation + post-translation editing”(MTPE)has achieved a balance between translation quality and efficiency, and has become the mainstream translation model in the industry today. The source text of this translation practice is excerpted from the fourth chapter of Project Business Management by Oliver F.Lehmann, which focuses on how project managers manage the complexity and dynamics of the project supply network. The book belongs to the business text, which is suitable for the MTPE translation model in both content and speech style. This translation practice is completed in the context of “machine translation +post-editing”.Firstly,the machine translation system DeepL completes the initial translation. On this basis, the author re-translates the material under the theoretical framework of“Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation” proposed by Professor Li Changshuan, and analyzes the whole process of the translation, finally completing this translation project. In this process, the author summarizes the common types of errors in machine translation, which provides some reference for the future post-editing work.In addition, the author analyzes the problems encountered in translation, and discusses the importance of comprehension and adaptation in the process of translation, which makes contributions to future research on such texts. The report is divided into six chapters.Chapter 1 provides an overall introduction to the project, including background information, objectives and significance of the report and approaches to translation.Chapter 2 is a description of the translation process, which mainly includes three parts: pre-translation,while-translation and post-translation.Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 are the core of this practice report, stating the contents of Prof.Li’s framework and the analysis of some specific cases under this framework respectively.Chapter 5 summarizes the practical experience of this practice, and gives some suggestions and prospects for the future “machine translation + post-editing” translation model. |
