Nowadays,various Computer-Aided Translation(CAT)tools have sprout up,rendering the "Machine Translation + Post-Editing" mode in translation work more prevalent in many fields of translation practice.As a newcomer,Yi Cat translation platform soon become favored by language service providers with its powerful terminology database and translation memory as well as its pre-translation ability.Due to its multiple terms,concise and objective language and standard writing style financial technology texts are theoretically suitable for machine translation.This thesis will identify machine translation’s performance in translating fintech texts.This case-driven thesis is based on the Financial Application Specification of Distributed Database Technology – Technical Architecture,a standard issued by the People’s Bank of China to regulate the financial industry.It discusses the performance of Yi Cat in translating this certain text,analyze and summarize its advantages and problems it leaves to post-editors,namely mistranslation of the words,literal translation of the phrases and the complex sentences lacking logic.Then it proposes specific post-editing strategies to optimize the translation accordingly:research and comparative analysis,trying to explain abstract concepts and sorting out the logic behind and increasing coherence.The author hope this thesis will provide a little reference for the future development of human-machine cooperative translation mode.
