The post-editing report is a study on the English-Chinese translation extracted from Financial Revolution: Bitcoin,Blockchain and the Democratization of Wealth.With the guidance of the Skopos Theory and based on the “Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation”Framework of Translation,the report combines machine translation and post-editing to discuss the text comprehensively,analyzing the translation problems in machine translation.The report also quests for solutions to the reproduction of the information and cultural connotations in the source language through post-editing translation.The following conclusions are reached through case analyses:(1)In the process of comprehension,importance should be attached to the cultural background of both source language and target language,the meaning of words in specific contexts and the structure of sentences,so that the text can be comprehended thoroughly,and the translation can be more precise.(2)In the process of expression,according to the differences in Chinese and English,translation can be probed from means of expression,including converting the characteristics of words and voice of sentences,adjusting word order,using idioms,which will make the translation more acceptable to the readers.(3)In the aspect of adaptation,addition and deletion of information are adopted to ensure the fluency and accuracy of the translated text.The report also summarizes the implications from the translation practice: Apart from translation theories and methods,it is crucial to have a wide range of knowledge and critical thinking ability.Hopefully the report can provide some references for the translation of financial texts.
