In Chinese international education,oral Chinese,as a skill that beginners pay more attention to,has always been concerned by teachers and students.How to make oral Chinese teaching more efficient is also a problem that Chinese international teachers continue to explore in practice.Because of its interesting and situational characteristics,picture books are more in line with children’s preferences and are one of the more acceptable materials for children to learn Chinese.In Wukong Chinese teaching institution,some courses also set picture books as teaching materials,which are also loved and favored by students.This paper is based on constructivism theory,Krashen input hypothesis theory,schema theory and humanistic theory.Taking the junior students taught by the author as an example,this paper selects three picture books"hungry snake","moving from head to foot" and"Hungry Caterpillar" as teaching case studies,and then arranges and analyzes the questionnaire and homework of relevant cases.The data shows that the picture books are beneficial to the primary learning of spoken Chinese,and then classifies and expounds the function and Enlightenment of the picture books used in the primary spoken Chinese classroom.The conclusion of the study is that picture books can effectively improve students’ learning enthusiasm and show a good learning effect in primary oral Chinese teaching.Through questionnaires and homework feedback,students have a good grasp of the classroom content.The advantages of picture books used in primary Chinese classroom are mainly reflected in improving students’ sentence awareness,guiding students how to extract important information,improving students’ interest in learning,and improving students’ expression ability through performance.In the teaching practice,the author also obtained the enlightenment that the teaching rhythm of picture books should be balanced,the use of picture books should be age-appropriate,the selection of picture books should have Chinese cultural characteristics,the language points in picture books should be daily and the positioning of picture books should be clear.
