Research On Zhang Yimou’s “Impression Series” From The Perspective Of Semiotics

"Impression series" live performance is a large-scale original live performance launched by the main creative team of impression "iron triangle" mainly composed of Zhang Yimou,Wang Chaoge and Fan Yue.This kind of live performance has developed rapidly in recent years.Taking China’s traditional national culture as the content carrier,it aims to spread and carry forward China’s national tradition,regional culture and lifestyle.While improving the popularity of the city,it has driven the local economic development and created a viewing miracle.This paper combines semiotics with the live performance of "impression series",and comprehensively uses the research methods of literature research and text analysis to make an all-round symbolic application analysis of the three live scenes of "impression.Third Sister Liu","impression.West Lake" and "impression.Dahongpao".This paper analyzes the symbol system of three live performances,subdivides the symbol types used in the performance to show traditional culture into linguistic symbols and nonverbal symbols,and also analyzes the application principles of symbols and the deep meaning system of performance,in order to explore whether these symbols play a role in expressing traditional culture.Finally,the article puts forward the improvement path for the further improvement of the use of performance symbols.The study found that both the types of symbols used and the principles of symbol application involved,the live performance of "impression series" fully demonstrated the internal significance of China’s traditional culture.The three performances take the construction of Liu Sanjie’s cultural identity,Jiangnan cultural identity and landscape tea cultural identity as the starting point,further achieve the construction of traditional cultural identity,and finally gradually rise to national identity.However,the live performance of "impression series" also needs to integrate the internal fundamental spirit of China’s national culture into the meaning transmission of symbols,and use symbols to deepen the relationship between traditional culture and real life.
