This thesis takes the translation, introduction and dissemination of Hungarian literature by Mao Dun and the writers of "Novel Monthly" as the research object, and explores the historical context and logical starting point of Mao Dun and the "Novel Monthly" writers’ translation and introduction of Hungarian literature. The writer group of Novel Monthly’s translation concept and strategy of Hungarian literature starts with sorting out their practical activities of Hungarian literature translation, and finally expounds the influence of Mao Dun and the writer group of Novel Monthly’s Hungarian literature translation, introduction and dissemination. The first chapter introduces the historical background and logical starting point of the translation of Hungarian literature by Mao Dun and the writers of "Novel Monthly".The translation and introduction of the literature of disadvantaged ethnic groups by Mao Dun and the writers of "Novel Monthly" not only inherits the translation tradition of the late Qing Dynasty, but also reflects the strengthening of translation function in the selection of translation materials and strategies. At the same time,he received the support and help of the Zhou brothers. In addition,it also includes the influence of its "for life" realistic literary concept. The second chapter introduces Mao Dun’s translation concept and translation practice of Hungarian literature. This paper pays attention to the influence of Mao Dun’s early work in the Commercial Press on his subsequent translation practice of the literature of disadvantaged ethnic groups, and then sorts out the specific situation of Mao Dun’s translation of Hungarian literature from Mao Dun’s translation concept of "for life".Finally,it explores the Hungarian literary works in Mao Dun’s two collections of novels from disadvantaged ethnic groups,Snowman and Taoyuan, published in the 1920 s and 1930 s.The third chapter discusses Mao Dun’s translation criticism of the "combination of translation and research" of Hungarian literature.Mao Dun has a detailed introduction and necessary explanations in the appendix to each translation. In addition,Mao Dun’s commentary on Hungarian literature, including compiled commentary articles and two hundred and six "Overseas Literary News" and other short text brief introductions. The translation criticism practice of "integration of translation and research" presents readers in an all-round way.The fourth chapter sorts out the translation and introduction of Hungarian literature by the writers of "Novel Monthly".Shen Zemin’s advocacy of "revolutionary literature",Wang Luyan,Hu Yuzhi and Hu Tianyue’s emotional resonance with Hungarian literature in the turbulent times, adhering to the translation concepts of "enlightenment" and "salvation",they chose to translate and introduce Hungarian literature. The concrete expression of the literary concept of "for life" in translation activities. The fifth chapter expounds the influence of Mao Dun and the writer group of "Novel Monthly" on the translation, introduction and dissemination of Hungarian literature. This influence is reflected in four aspects. One is the linkage between Mao Dun’s translation and introduction of Hungarian literature and his humanitarian and idealistic literary concepts; The third is Mao Dun’s promotion of the translation and introduction of Hungarian literature;the fourth is the historical influence of Mao Dun and the writers of "Novel Monthly" in the translation and introduction of Hungarian literature. The translation and introduction of Mao Dun and the writers of "Novel Monthly" in the 1920 s not only continued the tradition of translation and introduction of the literature of disadvantaged ethnic groups developed by the Zhou brothers, but also opened up a path for the translation and introduction of Hungarian literature in the 1930 s.To explore the historical process and significance of the translation and introduction of Hungarian literature at that time, and to promote the exchange of literature and culture between China and Hungary,we can see the far-reaching influence of the translation and introduction of Hungarian literature.
