A New Way To Try—David Hockney’s Art Research

As one of the most influential artists in the UK,David Hockney is willing to experiment with various painting media,and his artistic creation involves watercolor painting,printmaking,photographic collage,stage art,electronic media creation,etc.field,in which oil painting is known.For art,he is always trying new expressions and new mediums,In 2022,the 85-year-old artist is still busy exploring and depicting nature and trying the infinite possibilities brought by new media.In February of the same year,he exhibited an 80-meter 80-meter piece made up of multiple works at the Musée du Orangerie in France.Long scroll.From the perspective of a painting practitioner,the author divides this thesis into five parts.The first part starts from David Hockney’s early artistic experience,and explores the background and style evolution of the artist’s growth period.In the second part,the author analyzes the causes of this new way of viewing,which is different from the past,mainly from the influence of Cubism and Chinese scroll painting,based on the continuous exploration of the way of viewing in the evolution of his artistic style.Inspired by the way of viewing,Hockney’s artistic practice and the artistic characteristics of his practice works.The third part starts from two aspects.On the one hand,it starts from the application of Hockney’s traditional media,and on the other hand,it discusses from Hockney’s exploration of new media.This part focuses on Hockney’s exploration of new media.Feedback.The fourth part begins with the influence of contemporary artists,followed by Hockney’s inspiration and practical creation for the author.It is divided into two directions: electronic media and traditional media.The last part is the summary and hope of this article.The full text uses Hockney’s viewing method and the exploration of new media to conduct horizontal and vertical analysis and discussion,aiming to deeply understand the spiritual requirements of the artist’s transformation,and to convey a new thinking direction for us,which can make us in the old one.Reborn in the cognition of his own,break his own artistic boundaries,and open up new directions and new horizons for his own artistic creation.
