Folk culture is an indispensable content of international Chinese teaching.Teaching folk culture knowledge in the class can not only improve students’ language skills,but also enable them to better understand Chinese culture and integrate into Chinese society.This article takes international students in Guangxi University as an example,based on the model of “analysis teaching materials--investigation and interviews--teaching suggestions--teaching practice”,first analyzed the folk culture in the elementary Chinese textbooks,then investigated the teaching and learning Chinese folk culture in elementary Chinese classes in Guangxi University and put forward related teaching suggestions,finally designed a lesson plan about Chinese zodiac culture and took teaching practice.The main body of the paper consists of four parts:The first chapter combed the folk culture in elementary Chinese textbooks,introduced the folk culture in text,illustration and practice of Hanyu Jiaocheng,Boya Chinese and New Practical Chinese Reader,summarized the types and common knowledge points of Chinese folk culture in each textbook.Among the three sets of textbooks,the distribution of folk culture in texts,illustrations and exercises in the New Practical Chinese Reader is relatively balanced,with many appearances and complete types.For the type of folk custom culture,these textbooks mainly use the three types of material living,social etiquette,and folk art,the diet folklore and the material life folklore appears most frequently.The second chapter is a survey of the teaching and learning Chinese folk culture in elementary Chinese classes in Guangxi University,there divided into two aspects about teachers’ interviews and students’ questionnaires.The interview mainly investigated the views of the teachers to textbooks,the teaching situation about Chinese folk culture,and the questionnaire mainly investigated students to understand the knowledge about Chinese folk culture,the situation of learning Chinese folk culture both offline and online.Teachers generally believe that the folk culture in the textbook is relatively reasonable,but because of the curriculum category and class times are limited,the folk culture is rarely taught in class.Through the analysis of the various questions represented by students,they have a certain understanding of Chinese folk culture,satisfied with the teacher’s folk cultural teaching,but lacks opportunities to experience folk culture both inside and outside of the classroom.The third chapter analyzed the current situation and the problem of teaching and learning Chinese folk culture of elementary Chinese in Guangxi University,and then propose teaching recommendations.The cause of the problems mainly include the type of textbook and typesette restriction on folk cultural knowledge points and illustrations,the lecture schedule and the teachers’ knowledge reserve of folk culture are not enough which leads to the lack of in-depth explanation of folk culture,students’ study and life experience in their own country or China affect their understanding of Chinese folk culture,etc.Finally,this chapter puts forward teaching suggestions from four aspects:optimizing the folk culture of teaching materials,broadening folk cultural teaching methods,enhancing teachers’ folk cultural literacy,and expanding students’ folk culture.The fourth chapter is a design and practice of teaching folk culture online——taking Chinese zodiac as an example.According to the situation of the Chinese language class in Guangxi University,introduced the choice of textbook,teaching objectives,important and difficult points of teaching,teaching methods and props,etc.Then designed lesson plans and conducted teaching practice.After the teaching,it summarizes the teaching links,teaching methods and teaching process,as well as whether the teaching objectives have been achieved and whether the teaching difficulties have been solved.It also reflects on the shortcomings of the operation ability of online teaching platform and the selection of teaching content.In the end,made a conclusion about the selection of Chinsese folk culture in the elementary Chinese textbook,analysied Chinese folk culture teaching situation,summarized and pondered the practical experience of teaching.I hope the study can provide reference to Chinese zodiac teaching and even Chinese folk cultural teaching. |
